Category Number 1

Let’s start with Category number 1. Which are things to do in Bellingham Washington all season long.

1. Mt. Baker

First, let’s start off with Mount Baker. Just over an hour’s drive east from Bellingham, Mount Baker has a lot of great fun things to do in the wintertime. Now if you live here or plan on making a visit, you probably already know about the really awesome skiing and snowboarding Mount Baker has to offer. But you’re probably not aware of the other activities and happenings that are available up there. You can do things like taking your family sledding. Or if you’re feeling extra adventurous you could go snowshoeing down white Salmon Road and check out the Views of Mount Shuksan. Don’t know how to snowshoe? No problem! REI offers free classes on snowshoeing which I had no idea you had to take a class on. Then again I can hardly ski down a mountain without doing the little triangle pizza move screaming for dear life as I tumble down the black diamond. Speaking of pizza! After your intense day of sledding you can also stop by chair nine for a cold beer and some HOT Pizza.

2. Visit Leavenworth

The Second thing to do in Bellingham this winter also ironically also has nothing to do with Bellingham and that’s take a visit down to Leavenworth. Now if you don’t know Leavenworth is a small town completely modelled on a Bavarian village with festivals nearly every month and a multitude of events year round. If you’ve never been to Leavenworth you honestly have to check it out. It’s such an amazing experience and there is just so much to do there. The culture, food, activities is just so amazing. Yes it’s a couple hour drive south from Bellingham. But it’s 100% worth a day trip or even worth spending the weekend there. You won’t be disappointed.

3. Go Shopping In Fairhaven

The third thing to do in bellingham this winter actually is in Bellingham. (I know, surprise surprise!) Which is go shopping in down town Fairhaven which yes is in Bellingham for those of you who don’t know. Old town Fairhaven is honestly just one of the coolest areas in Bellingham. There is so much to do there between the unique bouquet stores to go shopping in or fantastic restaurants to dine out at. It’s a just great place to hang out or go on a fun date on.

4. Go On A Winter Hike or Visit The Park

The 4^th thing to do in bellingham this winter is go on a winter walk at one of our amazing parks or better yet, head on down to the always fun and never over crowded boulevard park for a cup of woods coffee which is also a great date idea.

5. Grab A Winter Pint

The 5^th thing to do in bellingham this winter is go to one of our many local pubs and grab a delicious winter beer to drink your loneliness away.

Category Number 2!

Alright let’s move on to category 2 Which is more of the seasonal events and happenings in Bellingham and the surrounding area.

Now there is a ton to do this holiday season and there is a little bit of everything for everyone! For example You can check out the Lynden Christmas light parade. Or if you like music you can go watch the Whatcom Symphony Holiday Melodies at the mount baker theater or watch the Nutcracker. Or of course you got the Holiday port festival down by the ferry terminal or can head north to Ferndale for an Old Fashion Christmas.
